Submitting to Michigan State Law Review Print Edition
The Michigan State Law Review is the flagship journal of Michigan State University College of Law, publishing five print edition issues per year. The Michigan State Law Review receives approximately 3,000 submissions each year and publishes approximately 15-25 pieces in the five independent print issues. At this time, the Law Review does not accept student submissions or book reviews. All other submissions are welcome.
Submission Requirements
We accept submissions in DOCX and PDF form. Please include a CV detailing your relevant qualifications and publication history and a manuscript of the article. We consider submissions of all lengths and do not have a word limit. Articles should use footnotes rather than endnotes or works cited. Text and citations should conform with the The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st ed. 2020) and The Redbook: A Manual on Legal Style (3d ed. 2002).
Submission Mediums
Michigan State Law Review accepts submissions primarily through Scholastica. In case of issues with the Scholastica portal, you may submit by email.
Publication Timelines
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, but the Law Review generally fills independent issues in the spring between February and April, and in the fall during August and September. We will do our best to review all expedited requests. If an article is accepted for publication elsewhere, please notify us with a withdrawal request as soon as possible.
