Hilary L. Vigil hails from Niles, MI. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in the Program of Liberal Studies, a Great Books program. She is a loyal Irish football fan. After graduating, she worked at the University of Chicago Press in the Department of Contracts and Subsidiary Rights, where she became interested in pursuing a legal career based on her work with contracts and copyright issues. During the summer after her first year at MSU College of Law, she split her time working at the Michigan Court of Appeals in the Research Division and at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Judge McKeague's Chambers. In her free time, Hilary likes to spend time with her husband and their two cats, and with family and friends. She also likes to hike, and play golf and disc golf.
