Expected graduation: May 2017

Summer experience: Summer Associate at Butzel Long in Detroit

Doaa was born in Saudi Arabia and immigrated to the United States in 1997 with her family. Doaa has spent most of her life in Detroit. She is the first in her family to graduate from college and go to law school. Doaa has five siblings and her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family. She decided to pursue a career in law because of her personal background. Some of Doaa’s earliest interactions were with attorneys who helped her family when they immigrated. She realized then that an attorney could have a profound impact on someone's life.

Doaa is a teaching assistant for Professor Payne’s Torts class and a student of the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute. She was an extern for Judge David McKeague of the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals during her Spring 2016 semester.

Interesting fact: Doaa binge-watched all 9 seasons of The Office in a three-week time period during the Summer of 2016  (that’s roughly 75 episodes a week) and is a HUGE FAN of Michael Scott.
