Courtney Hammer is a 2L at Michigan State University College of Law. She graduated in May 2015 from the James Madison College at Michigan State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Comparative Cultures & Politics, a Minor in Spanish, and a Specialization in Science, Technology, Environment, & Public Policy. She is also a graduate of the Michigan State University Honors College. Courtney was a member of Michigan State's Division I varsity women's soccer team for all four years of her undergraduate career. She also had the opportunity to travel to the United Kingdom and participate in MSU's Environmental Science, Policy, and Criminology study abroad program.
During her 1L year, Courtney was part of the Flint Water Team that assisted Professor Mark Totten with researching and drafting a memorandum about the potential for criminal liability in the Flint Water Crisis. She earned a spot on the Dean's List both semesters.
Courtney is currently a member of the Michigan State Law Review and pursuing a legal career that focuses on the inextricable connection between the environment and human rights.
